Re: BDraft outline for Science Case of BPol Proposal Dear colleagues: Please find below a proposed outline for the Science Case sections for the BPOL proposal which I offer as a basis for discussion and for the organization of the preparation of a draft proposal. Carlo and Paolo have distributed similar proposed outlines for the foreground and instrument working groups. I would like to solicit volunteers for smaller groups to prepare drafts for each of the numbered sections for the Science Working Group meeting to be held at the end of October) as reported in the previous E-mail from myself, Carlo Burigana and Paolo De Bernardis. The call for proposals for the Phase A studies within the framework of ESA's Cosmic Vision will, we are told, might be announced (following the special SPC meeting in late September), with a deadline for final submission likely to fall toward the end of this calendar year or the beginning of the next calendar year. Based on similar proposals in the past, we might envisage the science case part of the proposal comprising some 35 pages or so. Some adjustments may be required once of the announcement of opportunity is made public. May I concretely ask you to to send me a short e-mail by the 13 September : (1). Stating your Name : Institution : E-mail : Areas of expertise : so that we may compile and post a list of Science Working Group members. (2). Any comments or suggestions for modification of the draft outline below, so that we may finalize it as a basis for the draft document to be discussed at the meeting at the end of October. (3). Please indicate for which sections of the outline below you are willing to participate in the preparation of a draft document. ******************************** At the end of the day next Wednesday I will compile the responses and post them on the web. If need be, we can call a telecon to discuss the outline and the distribution of tasks. I have also set up GNU Mailman distribution list/archive for facilitate communication within and between the three BPol working groups and will sent you the details at that time. I look forward to hearing from you.
