She made remakable efforts for promoting scientific and cultural exchanges between France and Japan. In the late 60's, she started a project to give opportunities to young Japanese researchers to come to study in France. She put enormous effort to develop such activities for a French-Japanese scientific collaboration under a CNRS/JSPS agreement. The collaboration under this agreement (validated in 1973) was exceptional at that time. She was always very attentive to visitors from Japan, not only students and researchers, but also people for other missions. She received a medal (Shiju-hosho) and an order (Kunshu-santo) from the Japanese Government for her scientific achievements as well as for her remarkable contributions promoting exchanges between Japan and France.
